The best matched betting setup is not one clever trick. It is five tools that work together: a calculator that handles every offer type, an odds search that finds the covering bet for you, campaign calculators for bookmaker promotions, a tracker that knows where your money is, and a community that tells you when a new offer goes live. This guide goes through each part, what to look for, and how MB-Tracker puts all five in one place, for free.
If you are completely new, start with the beginner's guide to matched betting and come back here once you have done your first offer.
What a matched betting setup needs#
| Part | What it does | In MB-Tracker |
|---|---|---|
| Calculator Calculator | Works out the covering stake for every offer type | Calculator, plus N-Way and Combi |
| Odds search Odds search | Finds the best covering odds at your bookmakers | Search panel in the calculator, Surebet Finder, Boosts |
| Campaign calculator Campaign calculators | Applies a promotion's exact rules for you | Built into the calculator and the odds search |
| MB-Tracker Tracker | Logs bets, deposits, withdrawals and rewards | Bets, bookmakers, transactions, rewards, tags |
| Reward Offers & community | Tells you what to do next | Rewards calendar and Discord servers |
Underneath all of it you still need accounts at several bookmakers and capital to place bets. The tools only decide how much effort every offer takes.
1. A calculator for every offer type#
A basic calculator handles one case: a cash bet covered at a second bookmaker. Real offers are rarely that simple. The MB-Tracker calculator handles Back-Back Back-Back, and Back-Lay Back-Lay if you cover your bets at a betting exchange, with the offer types you actually meet:
- Freebet, stake returned or not
- Credits Credits and bonus money
- Refund Refunds if the bet loses
- Bonus on win Bonus on win
- Rollover Rollover, so you know what clearing a wagering requirement costs
Settings like betting tax or the rate a Freebet pays out at are set once per bookmaker, and every calculation uses them from then on. For more than two outcomes there is the N-Way calculator N-Way calculator, and for accumulator offers the Combi calculator Combi calculator.
For example, a €10 Freebet (stake not returned) at x5.00, covered at x1.23 at a second bookmaker:
| If... | Freebet bookmaker | Covering bookmaker | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Freebet Freebet wins | +€40.00 | −€32.52 | +€7.48 |
| Cover wins | €0.00 | +€7.48 | +€7.48 |
You lock in €7.48 either way, about 75% of the Freebet. The calculator does this sum for you. A good one also shows the result table, so you can see that both rows are the same before you place anything. When both bets are placed, Track Bets logs them straight into your bet list.

2. An odds search built into the calculator#
The calculator tells you how much to stake. The hard part is usually finding where: two bookmakers with odds close enough that covering costs almost nothing, or high enough that a Freebet keeps most of its value. An odds matcher does that search for you.
In MB-Tracker the search lives in the calculator. Enter the offer, press search, and it looks for the covering bet at your bookmakers, priced with your settings: tax, Freebet type, the active campaign. You can narrow it down by:
- kick-off time, sport, league, fixture and market
- odds range, which matters for minimum-odds rules
- maximum odds age, so you don't act on stale prices
- minimum rating or minimum profit, ranked by either
There is also a payout rules filter. Bookmakers don't always settle a market the same way (a tennis retirement, a postponed match), and a pair that settles differently can leave both bets losing. The filter hides those pairs, and you can compare two bookmakers' payout rules market by market yourself.

Next to the calculator's search there are two more:
- Surebet Finder Surebet Finder: looks across all your bookmakers at once for pairs of odds that pay out more than they cost, with your own tax rates applied.
- Boost Boosts: lists price boosts at your bookmakers, each with the covering bets that hedge it.
Searches are counted against an allowance that refills over time.
3. Campaign calculators for bookmaker promotions#
Many reload offers are not a plain Freebet. They are a percentage boost with a stake cap, cashback that depends on the odds you pick, or a payout that changes with the odds you reach. Working those out by hand is where most mistakes happen.
MB-Tracker builds these promotions into the calculator. Pick the bookmaker, switch on the campaign, enter your odds, and the right boost, cashback or payout tier is applied:
- Boost Odds boosts: percentage boosts on winnings, with stake limits, minimum odds, maximum boost and payout caps, tax and Freebet payouts included.
- Refund Cashback by odds: the cashback rate is taken from the odds you enter, including minimum stake, maximum cashback and cashback paid as a Freebet.
- Tiered payouts: promotions that pay different amounts depending on the odds reached, based on the tiers you actually hold.
- Special promotions: their own calculators for one-off campaigns.
The odds search uses the same campaign maths. Results already include the promotion, and they only show the sports, leagues and markets it is valid for. Campaigns are added by hand, so a brand-new type of promotion can take a little while to appear.

4. Tracking that connects everything#
After a few weeks you will have money at several bookmakers, bets waiting for results and Freebets with different expiry dates. A spreadsheet can hold all of that, if you update it every time. A tracker built for matched betting links everything to the bookmaker it belongs to:
- Bets with event, stake, odds, status and profit. Bet groups keep a bet and its cover together.
- Bookmakers with your balance at each, without logging in to every site.
- Transactions: Deposit deposits, withdrawals, credits and cash bonuses, split per bookmaker.
- Rewards: Freebets, credits, Jokerbet Jokerbets and Cash cash, with minimum odds, unlock amount, rollover and expiry date. Rewards turn yellow one week before they expire and red three days before.
- Next step: each reward suggests what to do next, with a link to a pre-filled transaction or calculation.
- Tags for anything the default categories don't cover.
The home page answers the four questions you check every day: which bets are still open, which have settled, which rewards are still active, and how much profit you have made this month.

5. Offers and community: the calendar and Discord#
Sign-up offers run out. After that, matched betting is about reload offers, and the hard part is knowing about them in time.
The rewards calendar collects bookmaker offers shared by the community. From an entry you can open the calculator, track the reward in your own account, or check the payout rules, and you can subscribe to the calendar in your own calendar app. Other users share the entries, so read the bookmaker's terms before you rely on one, and suggest corrections when something is wrong.

The Discord Discord servers, one per country, are where the community talks about bets, bookmakers and promotions:
- The calendar syncs with Discord. Each promotion gets its own thread in the rewards forum, so the discussion about an offer stays in one place.
- Boosts are posted automatically once their best cover is good enough, each with its own thread. The post is updated as the odds move and says so when a boost stops being profitable or is withdrawn. Its button opens the boost in MB-Tracker with your own tax settings.
- Personal notifications make sure you hear about the offers you care about.

Putting it together: one offer, start to finish#
- A reload offer appears in the calendar or on Discord. Track it as a reward.
- Open the calculator from the reward, with the campaign switched on if there is one.
- Search odds for the covering bet, with the payout rules filter on.
- Place both bets and track them, straight from the calculator.
- When the Freebet arrives, the reward's next step takes you back to the calculator.
- Your profit, balances and open rewards update on the home page.
Everything after step 1 stays in one tool, and you don't type the same numbers twice.

What it costs#
MB-Tracker is free: no ads, no premium plan, no paid features. Donations help cover running costs, but they don't unlock anything. If you are choosing between tools, see how MB-Tracker compares with other matched betting sites, feature by feature.
Bet responsibly#
A good setup removes most mistakes, but not all of them: always double-check the numbers and the offer's terms before you place a bet. Whether matched betting is allowed and how it is taxed depends on your country. You must be 18 or older. Only use money you can afford to lose, and take a break if betting stops feeling under your control.
